Internet Banking
Q: What is Internet Banking?
A: Internet Banking is a free service that allows customers to access account information and complete various financial transactions. The advantages -no banking hours, no queues, just banking safely and securely from wherever you are connected to the Internet. Its easy, convenient and best of all, its available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Q: How do I enroll for Internet Banking?
A: Currently Internet banking is available to Individuals only. To enroll for Internet banking you need to complete a one time enrollment process. You will need to have an account with CBI
If you are an individual customer you can visit any CBI branch for the registration. Simply fill up an application for the Retail Internet Banking facility.
You can define your own user ID for the Internet Banking Service.
You will receive a dual authentication Security Token from the Branch.
That is all you need to start using the CBI Retail Internet Banking Service.

Q: How do I change my Internet PIN?
A: You can change your Internet PIN anytime through the "Customize" section of Internet Banking. The "Customize" link is located in the main menu of CBI Internet Banking facility.

Q: What if I forget my Internet PIN?
A: You can request the CBI Call Center to get the Internet PIN un-locked/Reset. The request form for Unlock/Reset can be downloaded from our web site , or you can collect it from the nearest Branch. After processing your request the Bank will notify you to access the facility again with your Security Token authentication.

Q: How current is my account information?
A: Internet Banking offers you realtime balance and transaction information. All account information will show as soon as transactions are processed throughout the day.

Q: Can I get information on my previous transactions?
A: Yes, you can view your account statements up to last the 12 months. You can also save the statement to your PC and print it free of cost.

Q: Can I transfer money to other financial institutions?
A: Yes. Transfers can be made to other Financial institutions that participate in SWIFT, both in UAE and around the world. You can make transfers to anyone, anywhere in the world from your CBI Accounts.

Q: What is Internet Bill Payment?
A: CBI Internet Bill Payment is a service which allows you to pay your utility bills online. This saves your time as you do not need to wait in queues. It also saves you the effort of issuing cheques.

Q: How do I get started with Internet Bill Payment?
A: Log in to Internet Banking and select the Bill Payment link on the left. You will then need to enter information about the bills you want to pay. Our easy, step-by step instructions will walk you through the set-up process

Q: Can I schedule Bill Payments for future dates?
A: Yes. You can setup your regular bill payments for future dates & you can also make recurring payments. Additionally you will be able to amend any of the scheduled payments whenever you want.

Q: How can I ensure a payment will be processed correctly?
A: Make sure you update the references of the billing company accurately. Your payment will be processed correctly.

Q: Do I need to notify the billing companies that I will be using you Internet Bill Payment service?
A: No. Once payments are set up the billing company will receive a payment just like they would receive it from you. As a follow-up ensure that the correct reference numbers have been used.

Q: Is there a limit on the number of bills I can pay with Internet Bill Payment?
A: No. There is no limit to the number of bills that can be paid with Internet bill payment. You can even pay the utility bills for your friends, family members and anyone else. There is however a limit on the Amount of total bill payments per day.

Q: How long does it take to update a Bill payment?
A: All payments will be debited to your account immediately. Most of the billing companies will be updated at the same time while others will be updated within one working day.

Q: What if I have a question about a bill payment?
A: If you have a question about a payment you made or you believe an error has occurred, log in to Internet Banking, select the Bill payment History link on the left, find the payment in question and select the View Detail link. Or, call our 24-Hour contact center at 800 CBI(224).

Q: Is CBI Internet Banking secure?
A: Yes. We use advanced encryption technology to ensure your information stays safe and secure. And only you have access to your accounts with your login user ID, Security Token and Internet PIN. In addition we use the latest standards and the maximum levels of security and monitoring technology to ensure your safety. We strongly suggest you do not share your User ID, Internet PIN or account numbers with anyone. And please know that CBI Staff will never request this type of information via email or via any other means.

Q: What is the easiest way to identify an email that I have received as a possible phishing email?
A: Phishing emails will tell you that you must use a link provided to verify or change your account in some way. CBI will never send an email asking you to do this, or asking for personal or account information.

Q: How can I increase my own security when Banking online?
A: There are many things you can do to protect yourself online. Most of them are simple, others may need help from someone:
  1   Change your Internet PIN periodically. In CBI Internet Banking your Internet PIN has to be changed periodically, we advice you to change the Internet PIN before the expiry date.
  2   Keep your Internet PIN secure
  »   Do not be tempted to share your Internet PIN with anybody
  »   Never write them down
  »   Don't use any number relevant to you like telephone numbers, birth date etc.,
  »   Avoid using the same password/Internet PIN for different services
3   Make your computer secure
 
  »   Have a power on password or user password for your computer
  »   Make sure you have the latest security updates and patches
  »   Use anti-spyware programs
  »   Install antivirus software
  »   Use personal firewalls
  »   Try to avoid using places such as Internet cafes, libraries and other public places to access Internet Banking, as there is a risk of copying your information by various means.
  4   Always remember to logoff/logout properly from your Internet Banking session and close the browser when you are finished. It helps in clearing the traces of the site you visit.
  5   Do not use web links when accessing the CBI Internet Banking Homepage. Always key in the web address https://cbionline.cbi.ae. Or else add this URL to a favorite link of your personal computer.
  6   Exercise extra care on emails
 
  »   Do not send sensitive information such as your user ID, Internet PIN, etc., in emails.
  »   Be cautious about unexpected emails. Never open attachments that are suspicious.
